Just wanted to pass on my view of Total Commander for you. Ever since I switched from DOS to Windows 3.11 I have been using Total Commander (formerly Windows Commander) as a substitute for DOS' Norton Commander. I have to say, Totol Commander and Eudora are the only two programs I have running all the time. I cannot work without TC anymore, because I have gotten so used to it, and it combines so many functions into one program. For example, syncronizing, packing, FTP, renaming, copying, etc. Below is a description from the web site.
Features in Total Commander 5.5 now include :
* Two file windows side by side
* Multiple language support
* Enhanced search function
* Compare files / synchronize directories
* Quick View panel with bitmap display
* ZIP, ARJ, LZH, RAR, UC2, TAR, GZ, CAB, ACE archive handling + plugins
* Built-in FTP client with FXP (server to server) and HTTP proxy support
* Parallel port link, multi-rename tool
* New: File descriptions, RTF viewer, file system plugins
Give the program a try. It is shareware and runs without restrictions! You will love it if you handle a lot of files.
(I am not affiliated with Totoal Commander in any way, except that I have been a beta tester in the past)
Enjoy! EJ:blink:
