Angry No display after uninstalling NVIDIA drivers

Before installing new Nvidia display drivers, I uninstalled previous drivers as recommended but now I have no display. The system starts and boots up fine, but there is no display after the start up splash screen. Tried safe mode & VGA mode, only to have the same result. Apparently, Nvidia has uninstalled the default VGA drivers as well. Is there any way to remedy this problem without seeing what you're doing???

Thanks!

Never had that problem. With mine I uninstall the driver then when windows xp boots up it loads the driver it has on it, then you update from there.

Welcome to the forum btw.

shove in your XP CD, reinstall, but choose REPAIR install, that should fix it. Hopefully

So when you turn it on you don't even see the post screen?

Try yanking and reseating your vid card.

In the BIOS make sure to set the cdrom as the first boot device, so as to boot off your XP disc.

i'm not sure if this relates to what all of u are talking about but.....last week i went to the microsoft windows update and downloaded the NVIDIA latest driver. when i rebooted my computer my flat panel monitor would automatically go into "power saving mode" and turn off. so i had to manually shut down my computer and start up in "safe mode". got rid of the driver and then all worked well.
