need generic...

driver for a 16x dvd drive. for some reason my dvd rom drive won't read dvd's anymore. i cant find a driver for it anywhere. i dont even know what brand it is, it came preinstalled on my computer. any suggestions?

Have you looked for conflicts / drive ID info in Device manager ?
Have You loaded any conflicting hardware recently ?
Did you clean the drive ?
Windows XP supports nearly all drives with generic drivers.
Also try highlighting dvd entry in D/M , removing and then system will refind drivers on boot up.
