Default Real Audio (Not by Real)

Anyone know a good Real Audio Player thats not made by real networks?

I hate that bloody thing, i just want someting to play .ra files not a frikkin web browser / New OS.

Any ideas.

Real Networks is tight-lipped about their codec and has never released it to third-party development. You can use Winamp, BUT you still need to download and install the real player for the codec. After that search for a plugin on winamp to play RealMedia.

Actually i managed to find a nice little player called JetAudio which plays RealAudio files.

Im content now...

Oh, and it even supports converting files from one format to another. It's freeware, and if you pay for it, it supports mp3 encoding too. Very nice.

You will still need realplayer installed to play those formats with Jet-audio .. If you don't they changed since the last time I used it...

Yep i also agree.. i dont like Real Player either.. and i also didnt re-download it after i reformatted... hated the thing so much, Real One didnt do much justice either for it

Okay, just tested it on a .RAM file from Real's website. Worked fine without RealPlayer/RealONE installed :happy:

I was about to say - ive never had Real Player installed and Jet Audio works fine for me...

We have a RealNetworks Collaborator folks - OUST HIM.....

Nah, it's clean ... no ad banners, no spyware. The only thing you get extra with the paid version is mp3 encoding.

I would think so, since it plays .avi files and some other video formats. Haven't given it a try though.
