Earthling

Hi all, I have a little problem with setting up an Exchange 2000 Server for my school project. Currently my set-up is as follows:

• 5 Clients, all running Windows 2000 Professional
• 4 Servers, all running Windows 2000 Advanced Server

For my servers, they are configured as follows:

• 1x DNS Server
• 1 x DC
• 1 x DHCP
• 1 x Exchange 2000

I have finished configuring my DCHP, DC and DNS servers and all my servers and clients are able to join the domain successfully, but when it comes to installing my Exchange 2000 Server, a problem occurs.

Whenever I try to install Exchange 2000 on my Exchange Server, I get the following error message:

I have been reading around the documentation and I understand that I need to run /forestprep and /domainprep. I have a few queries though.

1. Are the above listed switches to be run on the Exchange Server or on the DC?

2. (this is totally unrelated) Also, when I try to join my domain, if I enter "exchange.com" (that's my domain name) and try to join it, Windows informs me that it can't contact the domain server. But if I enter in the NetBIOS name of the DC, I am able to join my domain successfully.
