I used Ad-Aware for about the first six months of having XP and then found the much superior SpyBot Search & Destroy. From the moment I installed, configured and then used it, it found spyware that Ad-Aware didn't even know was there. It also has the added feature of scanning for Registry inconsistencies which is nice. SpyBot is kept more current and is also free. I deleted Ad-Aware and have never looked back. It used to be good but now there is better.
