Default haunting text appearing

I'm running windows xppro, and suddenly have text appearing as if someone else is typing it when I am trying to type stuff. At the same time, when I type, the words aren't apperaring as I type them....I only type about 45 wpm, so I shouldn't be that far ahead hehe. Any suggestions anyone? Help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If you do have a microphone, turn off (or remove) speech recognition.

Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Regional and Language Options.

On the Languages tab, under Text services and input languages, click Details.
Under Installed services, click Speech Recognition under the language you are using,
and then click Remove. NOTE: If you remove speech recognition, it is not deleted
from your computer. When you do so, speech recognition is no longer available as
a text service and it is prevented from being loaded into memory. You can add it
again at any time.

True. But, I have seen where people will be listening to music or watching TV and the mic will also pic it up. It won't distiguish the words completely so it usually makes no sense whith what it types. But, that would be something else to make sure of. Good info mikill.

Well, I did have my sounds turned on, but I wasn't listening to anything like music or tv. What if I was?
Any other possibilities then? (and BTW, twobluemoons is a she, not a he) Thanks again.
