I'm not sure, but I'm willing to step out on a limb and say YES. Why wouldn't you install the latest chipset drivers for your motherboard? Up-to-date drivers are good.

• Windows XP Home Edition SP2
• Pentium 4 3.0GHz
• 1GB Kingston HyperX DDR 3200
• Asus P4P800 Motherboard
• ATI Radeon X850 XT
• SB Audigy 2 ZS
• WD 36GB 10K Raptors RAID 0
• WD 120GB 7200 HD w/ 8MB Cache
• 12x DVD+/-RW • 52x24x52 CD-RW

I just installed the latest bios revision...

everything working fine for you and not going to add latest cpu's and stuf... don't update your bios.. BUT if you are like me in a constant state of flux and getting and selling parts... might as well upgrade... the latest bios has a few ACPI fixes and support for the 2400+ and 2600+ cpu's...

There is no straight answer. Each case is different, are you experiencing problems? If it ain't broke don't fix it.
