Guessing here. Are you trying to do a system restore & get that error message??

No, I don't do anything.
The operating system tries to start the service, fails, and then generates the message. When the operating system tries to generate a system restore point, it fails and generates this message in the Event viewer: The system could not initiate a System restore. The result is that System restore does not work at any time. |

See if this does anything. As system restore is not working turn it off. (my computer/properties/system restore - turn off) Reboot. Go to system restore again & turn it on. At that stage it should be working again & create a restore point. Let us know what happens.
