With TweakUI from Microsoft Powertoys you can also enable / disable the build info in the lower right hand of your desktop.

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

You only need the TweakUI download, but Powertoys has more handy tools. In TweakUI go to GENERAL. Under SETTINGS, the last option "Show Windows Version on Desktop" can be "ticked" off.

eNuffSaid, you may be wrong at what he's asking...

nick1gbr, perform a search looking for "remove watermark", it's been discussed many a time.

But I'm kind enough to give you the registry patch provided by www.xp-erience.org itself a while ago, it works after reboot:

Hope you'll enjoy it !

Hi Ant -|- One,

We may be talking about the exact same thing. The problem with the "reg hack" method you suggest, is its simply "blanking out" 2 entire keys which are obviously there for a legit reason. The data within them is destroyed unless you did an export.

By using Microsofts TweakUI, you can simply turn this feature off OR on by ticking a check box. In my opinion its a better and nicer way to do it. Besides, TweakUI offers a lot more tweaks that are fun to play with.

Which ever one chooses (.reg key or TweakUI) they both get the job done.

Kind regards,
Willem Moolenaar

Sorry eNuffSaid,

You're right !

I didn't think TweakUI would apply to WMP9 watermark thing....

I have this too. There's no way of getting rid of it if your "testing" it.

I can't uninstall WMP8 or 9 either. What should I do, just wait patiently until its fully released?

This should work. Just apply and a reboot may be needed.
