Is anyone else receiving spoofed e-mails with the DELETEDO.TXT attachment...



Jeez I'm getting about 10 a day some from people who I have in my address book...

and they are recieving bogus e-mails from me with the same attachment...this thing is spreading like wild fire...just a warning for anyone who recieve's this attachment.....DON'T OPEN IT

And you probably will not hear much about it. That's because DELETEDO.TXT is coming from your email gateway. This attachment simply tells you that the email antivirus system (from your ISP, school, or whoever is providing your email) has deleted a virus infected attachment. By you receiving the DELETEDO.TXT attachment is a good thing.

So, is it OK to open the attachments named DELETEDO.TXT to see whose incoming e-mail is causing these myriad notices? Then I can tell them to check it out on their end.
