IS there any way to UNinstall Media player from XP home? I have tried and tried but there seems to be no obvious way. I even tried install Media Player9, hoping an uninstall would come with it....BUT alas I am now stuck with that instead. Thanks!!! |

Windows media player is part of the OS - not sure if SP1 will allow removal of it or not - but the thing does not take up any resourses unless you run it - so don't worry about it. I still use it to watch videos - but Winamp rocks for Mp3 (simple and effective). Unless you want to reclaim HD space there is no need to get rid of it.

I don't really need the HD space (have 120GB stiped raid thingy!)
Ideally I'd like to go back to the standard Media Player 8 after installing the preview of media player9, as 9 seems to be buggered... crashes a lot when loading. I do use a great audio player http://www.quinnware.com/ and this as a video player http://www.inmatrix.com/zplayer/ So its not like I need media player... suppose I should wait for the final release and hope that works ok (just don't like broken software on my machine) Thanks anyways |
