Windows XP Critical Update Problem!

Downloaded 2 critical update files from Microsoft site 10:30 GMT on 23rd July 2002.

Result was totally corrupt registry, had to re-install XP as installation process did not recognise the existing installation.

XP up-and running at 23:00 GMT 23rd July 2002 and I noticed that the updates I downloaded have vanished from Microsoft’s site.

Anyone had similar problem?

I'm glad I don't get there too often also. Gives microsoft time to patch the patch of the patch they have been trying to patch.
