I have 5 PCs at home (some with XP on), and would like to connect them all to the net. They're already networked via a hub.

Would ICS be sufficient for proper net access for all the PCs, which means any program will work inluding messengers and file sharing programs without SOCKS support, and from any machine? Or would I need a router?

I really don't want to get a router though (cost :) ), so software solutions would be fine as well (not proxy software though, I've tried that and many programs don't work, though most of what I need does).

You will be fine with ICS. ICS doesn't use SOCKS since it's not a proxy. Apart from that see above. :)

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
