Lagg in what way, the browser itself or the image?

Are you using Smooth Scrolling? Then turn that off. I have the same problem, when an image tries to load which is either real big (in byte size) or is not present, then the scrolling goes very laggy. Turning the Smooth Scrolling off works for me.
