please, i need any article or suggestions on how to twek and set up win xp to get maximum best performance and optimization for DAW (Digital Audio Workstation), also hardware tricks .... and first of all, should i format ppartitions to FAT or NTFS for audio recording and OS ?? thanx in advance regards |

Some simple tips:
My home machine is used as a DAW, and I have it formatted to NTFS. NTFS has some very nice features (compression, security, etc.) which I like. The question is why wouldn't you want to format to NTFS (maybe you are dual-booting?). Turn off any extra services that you don't need, they consume memory, CPU cycles and can cause timing issues with MIDI/Audio @see: http://www.blkviper.com/WinXP/servicecfg.htm Hardware tips, your mileage may vary.
