Hard discs

I updated my system for xp now to find that xp will not work with my old hard drives.
I bought a new drive and installed xp pro on it.

I have tried to put my old drive d onto my system to copy the files only to find that xp will not install the hard drive

its a fujitsu mpg3307at
the error i get is

One of the filter drivers installed for this device is invalid

any ideas or are you stuffed to get info from drive unless i put drive in win98 system and copy over network.

Strange problem. I guess if it were me I'd reach the same conclusion... over the network.
