I have recently been downloading from the XP-erience website and I have come across a download that I am unsure how to install. The download is titled "25CustomStartButtons". It is a zip file containing a collection of 25 BMP. Does anyone know where I have to extract these BITMAPs too and how do I change the colour of my Start Button? Any help would be greatly appreciated. 3d_Cg

u have to use apps like resource hacker(freeware) and open the msstyle file with it and just open the bitmaps for the theme and find the startbutton and replace it with one of the new buttons.

I've managed to edit my start button text and change the lil Windows window-thing to another bmp, however, the bmp is just a lil black box with the design in it.
click here for a shot of my start button How would I go about making the black part disappear while keeping the design (making it transparent)? And before you try to tell me how to change the start button, this was done through a tweak into Explorer itself, so it would stay the same no matter what kind of button was applied. Would I be able to load a transparent gif instead of a bmp into the tweak? |
