Default Problem watching .mpg file in WMP

I have a .mpg file I am trying to watch in WMP. (I wonder what it could be???) It is just a .mpg, but WMP says the format is not supported. What do I do to fix it?

It could be a SVCD file, you probably can't play it in WMP without the right codec, however, you can use WinDVD to play it (www.intervideo.com i think) using the playlist option in WinDVD.
