Exclamation Legacy mode?

I am brand new to XP, and I understand I can run older programs in legacy mode? Is this true? If so, how do I do it?

right click on the program, then choose properties, then goto the compatibility tab and it's pretty easy to figure out what to do

Thanks a bunch, but I can't even get the program to install, much less run.

I have this nice old talking dictionary designed to run on Win95, but I had it running fine on 98 and ME. I can't even get the install to run in XP.

I'm new here, so yeah... :P

Anyway... You can use the compatibility mode in setup. Just right-click the setup file and enable it. Then the setup will think you're using Win 98/ME, so it'll install it. Or at least, it should.

what piece of software are you installing. Some pieces are simply not XP compatible.
