Angry Very Slow boot!

I have found using (bootvis)Trace it shows that " Logon+Service" takes 53.95seconds!!!!
anyway to solve this problem??

that is insanely long.. did you upgrade to XP or do a fresh install? you can try turning off or setting some services to 'manual' to speed up boot time..

it was a fresh instal(XP Home full). I have looked at some of the services but i wouldnt know where to start, I cannot disable "workstation" as I have a NIC.

Try completely shutting down your computer, turning off its power, and then starting it back up again. A few weeks ago my restart time kept getting longer and longer. It was taking several minutes just to get to the login screen. I shut it down completely for a few minutes and then turned it back on. The startup time was as quick as I've ever seen it.

I have tried that...dont work. besides i allways take out the plugs when I sut down. there must be another reason
