Default Generic Host Process for win 32 services

I am using zonealarm pro ad I have had a program called Generic Host Process for win 32 services trying to access the interent.

Does anyone know what it is and what it does? as soon as I deny it access my net viewing goes down. It's also asking for server privalages, which has really got me bothered

Can nayone shed any light on this??

It is just what it says the Generic Host Process for win32 services..also known as SVChost It controls all the svchost activities and such which in turn controls the running of XP services. allowing it in/out won't let any bad things in so ya don't have tow orry bout that

OK, Cheers Qumahlin for the info. I have allowed it access, but not server access and it seems to be working fine.
