SessedOut,you should be glad you didn't call their tech support. It is awful, spent hours going over the same ground with them.I am waiting to see what they do when the new modem they are sending me doesn't work either.
I can say with all certainty that call-waiting is working fine on that line,as I tested it myself several times. And *70 is not in the dial string. The modem is just a piece of crap. But ActionTec will have to make this thing work,'cause it cost $62.50 and I will not let them get away with selling crap like this. |

Don't Know about the modem issue.
May be able to shed light on parent. Yes I am one! Most parents grew up in an age where computers were Huge, Expensive things. Heck most of em ( at least my age bracket ) can remember when the family got their first color TV. Most of these folk will accept computers at a user level. This is due to the fact that they most complex piece of equipment in the home was the TV. Many of them look at a computer as necessary evil. I.E. I need it at work. But, it aint necessary or I've gotten by all these years with out it. I don't intend to do any more than necessary. Many of you 25 Years or less. Probably grew up in a home were the computer has always been. Heck alot of you probable never had vinyl LP's (if you were born after 1984). While I am not saying all folks are like a good portion of tnem do think like this |

I called ActionTec today. They said that the modem apparently will not work in my system and that I should get a refund from the vendor(Harddrive.com).Hardrive.com refuses to give me my money back,as the 60 day warranty period has run up.ActionTec will not give me my money back either. What should I do?
