Customise the sound options - scroll way down to explorer and make sure there are no sounds for navigation or command I believe.

Okay, update. Apparently even if I save a No Sounds scheme or then go back and remove each sound individually, certain sounds (including "start navigation") come back. Very annoying.

yeah, but I've been using the same theme since I rebuilt this machine (reinstall) in April 2010 and I had also used it for at least a year on the previous install.
