Is your XP disk retail or OEM?

If I remember correctly OEM disks do not give an install option.
It is only delete partition/format/install with those disks.

maybe im wrong.. but i think ur HD may be dying

something similar happened to me

is it still in warranty?

Don't know =P Mom gave it as a Christmas present in 07 so she would know. If I have to, I'll ship it back to her to have a new HD put in which is what I think I'm going to wind up having to do. =/
