What is this promotion?
I normally just yank out my usb devices without giving my OS a prior warning. ... err... is this something totally different? |

if you just yank it out in vista you're usually given a "would you like to check this device for errors" message every time you plug it in after that until you do the scan. Although usually when I try to "safely remove" something I get a message saying the device is in use when it isn't or hasn't been for some time so I just yank it out.
