I am currently using a USB external HD setup for backups. It has two HD in a RAID1 setup. I am really not pleased about it's data transfer speeds. Wondering if I move to an internal PCI RAID1 card instead, if the data transfer speeds would be better. I have a Promise TX2300 PCI RAID card, ready to use. This would not hold the OS, just files and backups. Thanks Heeter |

Well, the theoretical limit for USB 2.0 is 60MB/sec though it reality it transfers at 40MB/sec according to:
USB 2.0, Hi-Speed USB FAQ PCI on the other hand transfers at 133MB/sec: Conventional PCI - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia How about a motherboard with an integrated RAID controller? |
