For build 7000,
It see's all my drives, usb drives and 1394 drives, the only drives
that win 7 does not see for me is any drive that has XP installed on it.

Is your 1394 have XP installed on it or is it not running a OS on it ??

I used the vista chipset drivers with my Asus as the windows drivers that
loaded my chipset where very poor.

The external HDD is only for backup, so no OS is install in it. As shown below, I don't see it

Also there are no drivers for my mobo (ASUS M3N78-EM)

So for the moment I'm out of options. I haven't installed the latest that had leaked out.

Your right, don't know what to say ????

Are you using the drivers that came with win 7 for your chipset or did you
install the vista drivers ?

Wondering if you tried both ?

The external only has 1394, and not usb also right ?

I have a customer that want the same mobo as you have, would you mind
tell me what you think,or just what you don't like, Thanks for your time.

Asking because you know what your doing.

To tell you the truth, I don't remember if I used the vista drivers. I found the latest version of Windows 7, so I'll give it a try the next days to see if there is any change. The mobo is good and is working as a charm under XP, which is my default OS. I have also tried under vista. And there I had no problem with my external HDD.

I formated the hard drive and installed the latest I could find (7057.0.090305-2000) and the problem was solved.
