Default Re: Another win 7 Upgrade?

My bad. I posted wrong about installing to a new drive. As it turned out that drive had XP previously installed to it. I get so confused here as I currently have WIN7 setup on four comps. When I run setup I leave the key part blank, just click next. After I evaluate them all for a few weeks I'll activate one of them.

I installed Win 7 upgrade 64bit to a new harddrive. Left key blank, unchecked auto activate box. First attempt to activate online failed. Did a clean reinstalled the same way as first time and activation passed.

Yes, you can use the Win 7 upgrade to do a clean install BUT to be legally licensed you MUST OWN a previous version of Windows that qualifys for the upgrade such as Windows XP.
If you do not have a previous version then you can not legally use the upgrade media to do a clean install.

Installed it from the dvd few days ago everything went fine!!!

I did find it wierd that you didn't have to put the previous windows disk in like i had to with XP.
