Default Portfolio Pictures

I'v been working on my site for awhile now. All done in CSS, and I'm at the part of working on the page "portfolio" where is where all my images will be placed. I seen somewhere before a site have all the images in tiny thumbnails beside each other, row by row, and column by column kind of thing. I was wondering how would I go about doing this?

If anyone comes up with a good code please state, but for now I came up with a pretty cool way of doing it.

using 1 image, rollover image, and thumbnail image as normal, was you roll over it, it loads the full image....took awhile to get the coding figured out but yea. I still wonder if there is an easier way.
