ZFS Port to Linux ( all versions)

As we all know, ZFS is by far the best file system.

People have workarounds and solutions which are kind of 2nd tone replacements to work on Linux, but either ways, all these solutions are not really good replacements as they either are not stable enough or lack some of the salient features of ZFS.

KQ has ported ZFS to Linux and was a much awaited release since January 2010.

We are releasing the closed beta in last week of August/first week of september and are looking for closed beta customers who can test it for free on some environments.

Mail me at darshin@kqinfotech.com to register.

Feel free to put forward any questions as well.

Kind Regards,

Darshin

I'm gonna let this thread stand to see if you respond to my post and questions, the thread will be deleted if you just posted and disappeared, I'll get back here in a few hours to see

Hi Perris,

Am not gonna disappear ! :)

Thanks for allowing the thread to stand.

Well, ZFS to Linux is something that a lot of sysadmins are actually looking forward to, some have tried patches and bits n pieces, but never really succeeded and some have then leveraged the work around modes, like either using Nexenta OS to leverage the best use of the file system.

Also, so far the issues were with licensing, the GPL/CDDL thing and all, we have addressed those issues, we have been working really hard to port ZFS to linux, have used our best breed of filesystem engineers and have finally come up with a stable working port of ZFS on Linux.

So we are very excited to let the world know that we have the solution ready and its time we get the recognition as an innovative solutions company...and with forums like yours, I believe thats the best platform to let all the Linux users know that now the solution does exist for using ZFS on Linux which is going to make life a lot easier for ppl in data maintenance industry, all sysadmins, all backupadmins, everyone.

I would be pretty much awake in the forum and always available to answer any questions (ofcourse when am not working, there would be a break of about 10 hrs, but max 24 hrs time to reply to any post).

Thanks,
Darshin

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
