i dont really go into safe mode much, inless i change a boot screen or do something that requires that no system rescoures are being used or something like that, mostly about bootscreen. I just wanted to know why does it take so long to go into safe mode. I used to get in quick just like when i boot in normal mode. Any suggestions?

Also when i shutdown it takes long to shutdown too, i dunno y, is it cuz i leave my computer on too long, LOL. Well let me know?

My boot time is good when i start up

-i have the lastest offical denator drivers.
-xp pro sys

Don't know about safe mode, never been there with XP! as to slow shutdown could be your video card, are you running nvidia drivers?

Check under admin tools 'services' (if xp pro) and disable nvidia driver helper.

Yes, either the nvidia helper or go into your registry and look for local machine-> system-> controlset001-> controlwaittokillservicetimeout

Set it to a low number like 2000 .

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
