XP Upgrade

I upgraded from windows ME to XP pro with the xp upgrade disk.
Is there any way to upgrade to XP without having ME installed first ? Is it possible to format the drive and just install from the upgrade cd ?

As long as you have the ME CD (or any other qualifying OS) you can boot to the XP CD, reformat the drive and do a clean install of XP, it will just ask you to insert the ME CD to verify that you have a qualifying product when XP is doing the install.

Thanks i might try that next time i need to format.

A format and clean install is always the best way to go when you install any operating system.
