If you cannot update XP check your c:\windows\windows update.log. If you have this error: Error 0x800C0008 then go to Tools\internet options\languages. You must have one language selected. Boom windows update works again!
Thanks for the help, but that suggestion didn't work. The update just stays at 0%.
(I did have that error though. I tried selecting the language, but it doesn't stay selected. And the 'apply' button doesn't bold when I choose it meaning that nothing really changed.))
Then the language must be the problem. I have not have the need to do this but keep trying different ways to get the language to stick then it should work. Hopefully someone will be able to walk you through it if needed.
Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
