is there a way, either through xp itself, or a program, to make DOS windows transparent?
(like c:\netstat and have my desktop show through, or ping info, etc.)
thanks for any help, advice, or suggestions.

I know it's possible, I've seen it numerous times, but I can't remember it's name. I believe it is a shell-replacement (in this case for cmd.exe), but you'll have to google for it and otherwise wait for an answer from one of the other members.
