Go to Gibson Research to read the story.

It turns out that for the past 11 weeks no one has said a word until Microsoft fixed this problem.

    What's the problem:
A hacker could have you click on a link on a web page that could wipe out your hard drive. A help window would pop-up and once you closed the window your data would be gone. Windows XP SP1 fixes this problem.

Here is a tip I saw on the ScreenSaver show on TV today.
If you have a slow connection you can do this quick fix until you download and install SP1.

Do a search for "uplddrvinfo.htm" and rename or remove it. I would just rename it to "uplddrvinfo.htm.old". This will prevent this Vulnerability.

I let you all know about this 2 days before is was posted on the front page:

Win-XP Help Center request wipes your HD

If you go to Gibson Research they now have a program that will fix the problem for you if you don't want to install XP SP1 or plan on installing it later. This program is called XPdite.
