XP reboots instead of shut down

  1. When I want to shut down my laptop its rebooting again :(

I have already disabled the autorestart and I get now this message when shutting down:

    Driver_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

    *** STOP: 0x000000D1

    *** kbdclass.sys - adress FBC5A945 base at FBC5A000, Datestamp 3b7d82f3

    I think there's a driver problem.....

    Compaq Presario 1246
    Win XP
    Office XP
    Adobe Acrobat 5.0
    Adobe Photoshop 7.0

    Can somebody help me?

They said theyll fix that problem in sp1 so if its really bothering you you can download the beta or wait till the final release comes out..

  6. I have done that already, but I cannot find the solution there....

The only programs on my laptop are:

    Win XP
    Office XP
    Photoshop 7.0
    Acrobat 5.0

I will now download these drivers of the 1247 model and see if this will solve my problem.... Lets hope.

Go to the device manager and click on the keyboard/mouse and go to driver then press roll back driver... it might not work though

  16. I did the up dates and still I have this error

Perhaps I can try to delete the keybord and mouse driver from the device manager and let win xp install it back when rebooting.... What do You think
