xp help - DESKTOP AND TASKBAR GONE

ive seen alot of these posts but none have solved my problem. one day i restarted and my desktop icons and startmenus was gone and i have to use windows task manager. anyways if i make a new user it works fine until i retart and then its back to gone. and right before i restart i see my desktop for a second then it restarts so its there but something is preventing it from showing. can anyone help me with this?? thanks

icyfrost helped me and we figured out if u end proccess to explorer.exe and new task > explorer.exe it shows up fine. but when i restart its gone and i had to end procces and new task every time.

Have you tried a system restore to a point before this problem started?

Have you follow the resolution [3 of them] on the MSN link and if so is the problem still there?
