Hoi

I have a recent problem with my XP SP2 machine. On this machine are several users (all family). After switching users (withour logging off) and when this second user logs off, the computer freezes: keyboard doesn't work, monitor blanks out (gets no signal, powerlight is flashing) but there is still harddrive activity (hd light flashes). If I want to get the pc working again I have to restart te d**n thing...

Anyone had the same problem and/or knows the solution?

Sounds like it might be some power settings? After reboot, have you checked your event viewer to see if anything is logged?

Will have a look in the event viewer next time (if you can tell me where to find it....). It could also be a problem with a powersavings program called "local cooling". To find out I just uninstalled it and will give it a go tomorrow.

Thanks

Start, Run, eventvwr.msc

Good luck with the local cooling thing.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
