xp adsl internet ???

    for the last 4days my cs pings r like dial up modem pings of 200-250,which r normally 20-50,i have a asus router 1.4ghz athlon
    the pings r on uk2net servers,but pings on jolt servers r good,ive never known uksnet to be bad for this long,thxs for any advice

    I have BT internet and i am interested in this forum... i have an ASDL which is a 512k.. Is there anythin i can do to XP to make it run any quicker? Or is there anythin wrong with BT Broadband?

    my download speeds are about 50kbps.. isnt the averrage download 64kbps? the ADSL connects up at 576.0kbps but i notice that the downloads are around 50kbps

    well its to do with contention ratio which on BT is 50:1 which means 50 people share the same gateway as you.

    Also 50kb/sec seems about right.

    Go here and do the test and post the results here ok?

    Is that 50 kbits/s or 50 kbytes/s? If it's 50 kbytes/s (which I think it is) then thats fairly good. 512 kbit line will get you 512/8 = 64 kbytes/s maximum.
