Don't add a DNS entry, and do not configure Apache to accept www. as a valid ServerAlias.

You can edit the apache config or you can do what is suggested w/ using a .htaccess to do it. It's in the 2nd block on the no-www.org site.

I believe if you do not have a CNAME referencing www.yoursite.com in your DNS it wouldn't send you there.
