Are there (if any) changes done to Windows Xp compatablility to games, graphics and soundcards?

One thing I noticed is that when I installed original WinXp that it did not find my graphic card..just general support, but with SP1 it says now from the beginning that it is a "Geforce4 Ti 4200".
    But not with my Audigy...

There are some compatiblility updates included in SP1. From what I understood, they where mainly M$ games and some photoediting software.
Support for soundcards, videocards and stuff where expanded. Between the release of Windows XP and SP1 some new cards where launched, like the GeForce 4, new drivers where also added for (minimal) support. I would advice to install the newest (official) nVidia drivers anyway, because the standard drivers make you view the desktop and play some very old games.
The Audigy cards are a different story. I heard (no personal experience) that drivers for Audigy cards where (or still are???)very crappy and I think Microsoft would take no risk and decided not to put the drivers in SP1.
