I have a PC with the following specifiations:-

    Asus Mainboard
    Intel P3 - 1.0Ghz
    Kingston 768MB SD RAM
    40GB Seagate Hard Disk Drive

I am using both Windows XP and Red Hat Linux 8.0 on this machine, so its a dual boot PC. However, once a while, I notice that when Windows XP starts, it hangs just like that when the screen is displaying the Windows Logo. After I turn off the PC and restart it again, everything is normal.

Can anyone diagnose any problem based on these symptoms or anyone experienced this before? : ) Any help is most appreciated.

    Thank you ... ;)

Have you had any error messages besides it just hanging???

Does it "boot" O.K. in "safe mode"? Have you tried?

How long have you let it sit for when in hangs (to see if it will continue to boot)?

When do this problem start to occur? Did you install anything at that time? Or do an "update"?

try boot to safe mode... see got any prob or not...

go to msconfig and see what is running and try off those program (1 by 1 if u want to b sure) and restart... see the prob still occur or not

and do u update any driver etc... u can do a system restoration if all the things failed and the prob still occur! ;)
