Hi,I just did a clean install of WinXp in my machine,I didn't change any hardware whatsoever and I reinstalled about half the progs I had before the format(including windows update, drivers etc). Now every time I boot-up I have to wait for like 30seconds after I see my desktop for my machine to open windows explorer, internet explorer and to dial-up my connection. The start button is responding normally and so is task manager, but everything else seems to wait for 30 secs or so before it responds.Any help appreciated.

PS:Sorry if i didn't make that clear enough, english is not my native language.

PS:I am not sure if this a windows problem, and if this should be posted here but I didn't see any other section of the forum more relevant than this one.

See if any of these two things will do the trick. :)

    Correcting System Hang at Startup

If your system hangs about 2 or 3 minutes at startup, where you can't access the Start button or the Taskbar, it may be due to one specific service (Background Intelligent Transfer) running in the background. Microsoft put out a patch for this but
it didn't work for me. Here's what you do:

    1. Click on Start/Run, type 'msconfig', then click 'OK'.
    2. Go to the 'Services' tab, find the 'Background Intelligent Transfer' service, disable it, apply the changes & reboot.

Also if not on a network disable 'workstation' at the same place as above.
