it closes the screen, it leaves the task bar, but video keeps playing and there is still sound

I have to use task manager to close it down...yes, tried a restart

any ideas?

Taskmanager > shutdown WMP11 > insert smiley face :)

Do you have a Bluetooth keyboard/mouse by chance?

Logitech SetPoint? The program likes to keep Outlook and WMP open because of the notifications built into it.

only thing recently installed was the latest actice sync...that could have done it I guess

it happens on a clean vista install. Use taskmanger till they fix it.

I will check it it's fixed on SP1 or not.

Could well be Activesync perris... often affects me to... outlook does the same.

One thing tho, which plugins in WMP do you have enabled? I often find if I disable the one that shows what I am listening to in live messenger it will close properly.

And Perris, you shouldn't need Activesync - it shouldn't even let you install it.
Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 is far superior :)

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
