When I play a media file, playback is jumpy especially at the first quarter of the file. I have been to many sites looking for help to fix this problem.

AMD 1700+ 1.5GHZ
512 DDR
Win XP Pro
Direct X 9.0b
ATI 8500 w/ 128mb ram

I am attempting playback from the hard drive. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated. MY apologies if I missed any references in this forums threads.

defrag your hard drive(s).

have you installed any codec packs? If so, uninstall them and start fresh. Maybe try Media Player Classic over on sourceforge.net

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
