its fine with 1 512 stick, they both POST on there own. memtest 3 comfirms there both fine, but i can only get safe mode running, just reboots on normal mode unless i drop to 512 again

latest bios is in, just wondering if this is a 98 problem.

thats what ive heard about 98 ...it cant handle 1 gig of ram . try 2000 or better yet goto xp ya obviously have the ram needed :)

Windows 98 can handle 4gb of memory, there used to be an article on knowledgebase about how to fix issues with 512+ .. seems to have gone walkies tho

welll its in the midst of reloading windows, 11 mins to go stay posted :)

didnt work, anyone able to find the MS link to work round this >?

the thread i found said 98/me is not designed to run it and the solution is to drop to 512mb.

upgrading to XP now to see if that fix's it lol.

thanks for the links going now.

I ran 98 for the longest time with 3 sticks of 256...

no problems, didn't have to do anything, did you try simple stuff like switching the ram from one slot ot another, sometimes ram is real weird.

2 sticks 2 slots, pc133 jetway v266b rev 3.0 latest bios, went home about 5 hours ago... XP turns into a black screen halfway through install (upgrade) starting again in the morning.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
