Will I be okay?

Hi there,

I am about to build my first computer and am thinking about using Win XP Pro as my OS. I was hoping anyone can let me know if they have had issues (and what they were) with any of the hardware I have and how to fix the problems (if I'll encounter any)? I plan on using it mostly for gaming.

Here's the stuff:

Asus A7V266-E
AMD 1600XP
WD 80gb
Pioneer 106s dvd
Plextor 24/10/40 cd-rw
Turtle Beach sound card
Hercules 3D Prophet III Geforce3 ti500
512mb (2x256 Cruical RAM)
3Com/US Robotics 56k modem #2977

I really appreciate any help I can get.

Your best bet is to go to each of the hardware's sites and make sure they have XP drivers available and if there are any known issues in their Q&A sections. Looks like a nice rig... have fun.

Am I the only one that seems to be having a compatibly problem with XP and geforce 2 cards?

I've configured alot of XP systems and have yet to have a problem with a geforce 2 card.

What am I doing wrong, I have tried different driverd, I have updated my mobo bios etc, could it be a faulty geforce card?
