which HD brand..

theres only one brand for me and thats Maxtor


i have had a lot of their drives and all have been okay - i am soon going to be buying some more

i have heard WD are good but never tried them, always been happy with maxtor

I have one on of the Samsung 160's myself. Great drive, except that it comes initially as a ata100 instead of 133 (can be changed), and that the jumper diagram is incorrect. Solid, quiet drive.

Me is the total opposite. Except for the Seagate. I have never used them, not even after they bought out Conner. Now those were bullet-proof. I still have my first HDD, a Conner 80MB.

Yep, I said 80MB.

Nah, Nah beat you. My first HD was a Great Lakes Peripherals 10 MB. (Yes, 10MB!) Fortunately they went out of business. (POS garbage I paid $400 for.)
