ok, basicly my HD power cables werent long enough to Connect both at same time and have them in the case where i wanted them , so i used the CD-rom power cables which worked and they were longer and put the HDD power cables on the Cd drives.

Im told that I SHOULDnt do this? why? it works fine!

HDD and CD both use the same cables (molex). So there is no problem.

These are power connectors right? If so, then it shouldn't matter. Why do you say that some should be for HD and some for CDROM? Are they labeled or something? They might be labeled in case some newbie decides to take things apart and can't figure out where the wires go after or something :)

I don't see any reason to not switch them around. Ive never seen a power supply that said certain connectors had to go for certain things like that. There may be some SLIGHT voltage drop on the cable if there are too many devices on one set of wires, but unless everything is running at once, I doubt you'll even notice.

well, they are labled, but i guess there should'nt be a problem, there hasnt been yet!! you see my CD cables were longer so i could put 2 HD's in the case in proper positions.

Like I said, there is no problem, they all use the same power, nothing will blow up (don't quote me on that)

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
